Interstitial Manifesto (a manifesto in progress)
This video manifesto in progress is an open-ended project in conjunction with the (international | independent | interstitial) festival which will take place in Chicago from Feb 29th-March2nd, 2008. It is meant to define a space that can not be fully defined but, perhaps at best, may be rumored to exist. The festival is an effort to create a moment in space and time for the transitory. It will bring together and celebrate artists who are accelerating evolution by creating work free from the constraints of established genres, formats and media, defying categorization and drawing from or creating personal/social/political “in-betweens.”

This leap year, i^3 hypermedia is hosting the first quadrennial (international | independent | interstitial) festival. The focus of the i^3 festival is on artists who are accelerating evolution by creating work free from established genres, formats and media, defying categorization and drawing from or creating personal/social/political “in-betweens.” Programming includes performance, installation, video, print, multi-media, intermedia, and digital works from around the globe.
